Steve Poole was born in London and has been a professional photographer since 1986. Completely self-taught, he began shooting local news stories and quickly rose to shooting global news, fashion, sport and features for the national newspapers. In the mid-90s his attention turned to portraiture for magazines, where he shot hundreds of celebrities and was often requested by rock stars, royalty and Hollywood actors.
This period culminated in his work being exhibited in galleries including The National Portrait Gallery in London where 5 of his shots are still part of the collection.
Steve has been published in many titles across Europe including: Condé Naste Publications, NME, Tattler, GQ and The Times as well as shooting a number of celebrity book covers. He has given a number of recent interviews to publications including NPhoto, Ibiza Style and Turning Pro magazine and has appeared on Channel 4 TV giving his expert view on photography.
For the last 10 years he has lived in Lymington with his wife Tricia and has turned his love of the still image towards photographing a diverse number of subjects. To find out more about Steve Poole read the interview he recently gave to Hampshire Life.
